Colors for Spring 2018!

The Sargent’s production staff is getting geared up to start planting for the 2018 season. The smell of soil, spring and beautiful annuals will soon be filling the greenhouses. Every year we make sure to keep our eyes out for the latest and greatest annuals coming out. Here are some highlights on a few of the fun new annuals we are planning to add this year.

Superbena ‘Stormburst’

Superbena verbenas are very vigorous with strongly trailing habits  They need relatively long days to bloom and are difficult to produce in small container sizes.  They have very large flowers and umbels.  They are great in landscapes and containers.  In landscapes, they are best used at the front of beds and they function as spillers in combination planters.  If you are looking for a colorful annual ground cover, Superbena is a great choice.

Toucan® Coral Canna Lily

This Canna Lily will bloom all summer, it is extremely heat tolerant – loving both heat and humidity.  They are adaptable and can take damp conditions, but they are not especially water needy.

Supertunia® ‘Lovie Dovie ’    Supertunia petunias are vigorous with slightly mounded habits that function as both fillers and spillers in containers.  They are also excellent landscape plants, best suited to be placed near the front of beds.  They have medium to large flowers..

Superbells® ‘Blue Moon Punch’  By the time hard frost comes in fall, this plant will have showered your garden with thousands of blooms. The petite flowers grace cascading plants that are great in combinations, mono-hanging baskets and in raised beds with great drainage.
