Fried Squash Blossoms
Pick squash or zucchini blossoms early in the morning, and soak them in cold water.

12 large squash blossoms
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Dash of garlic powder
1/4 tsp. thyme or 1/4 tsp cumin
1/2 cup milk
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 egg
oil for frying

Beat egg with milk and oil. Mix dry ingredients. Add to egg mixture and stir until smooth. Thoroughly dry blossoms. Heat 2″ of oil to 375 degrees. Dip blossoms in batter and fry until crisp. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
