Steamed Christmas Pudding

2 cups cranberries, cut in half

1/2 cup molasses

1-1/2 cups flour

2 tsp. baking soda in 1/2 cup hot water

Stir ingredients until blended. Pour into a greased, covered mold. Steam in large kettle with several inches of water over low heat until brown, about 1 hour. Serve with butter sauce:

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup cream

1 tsp. vanilla

Combine sugar, butter, cream in double boiler and heat over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Add vanilla. Serve warm.
