Sargent’s Floral is closed for fresh flower arrangements. We still have a wide variety of blooming and green house plants.

Employees are still inside the store setting up for our Spring business and here to help you. We are more than happy to offer you curbside delivery and delivery off site for a fee.

Fried Squash Blossoms
Pick squash or zucchini blossoms early in the morning, and soak them in cold water.

12 large squash blossoms
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Dash of garlic powder
1/4 tsp. thyme or 1/4 tsp cumin
1/2 cup milk
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 egg
oil for frying

Beat egg with milk and oil. Mix dry ingredients. Add to egg mixture and stir until smooth. Thoroughly dry blossoms. Heat 2″ of oil to 375 degrees. Dip blossoms in batter and fry until crisp. Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
