Sherried Nuts

1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup dry sherry
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
5 cups walnut or pecan halves
granulated sugar

In a saucepan, blend brown sugar, sherry, corn syrup and pie spice. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Stir in nuts until well coated. Roll nuts in granulated sugar. Dry on a baking sheet. Store in loosely covered container.
