Garden Center Perennial & Nursery Supervisor
Full-Time Retail Supervisor – Sargent’s on 2nd, Rochester MN

We are seeking a Perennial & Nursery Supervisor to lead our outdoor plant department, bringing horticultural knowledge, excellent customer service, and strong team leadership to our 2nd Street Garden Center.
This is a full-time, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives outdoors, loves perennials and woody plants, and enjoys helping both customers and team members succeed.

You Have:
- Proven experience working with perennials, shrubs, and container trees in a retail or nursery setting.
- A desire to lead and coach a seasonal team with confidence and enthusiasm.
- A commitment to creating an outstanding shopping experience for customers.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask through busy spring and summer seasons.
- Physical ability to lift 40+ pounds and work outside in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
Supervision of perennial and nursery departments, including daily operations, plant health, and merchandising.
Leading and motivating a team of seasonal associates, offering training and support throughout the season.
Maintaining excellent plant care standards for trees, shrubs, and perennials—ensuring everything looks its best and stays healthy.
Assisting customers with plant selection, care advice, and loading of materials as needed.
Collaborating with store manager and buyers on product needs, inventory flow, and seasonal planning.
Unloading of plant deliveries and organizing of stock in the yard and nursery areas.
Contributing to visual displays, signage, and overall organization of outdoor plant spaces.
Supervision on sales of holiday greens, including Christmas trees, garland, wreaths, etc.
Responsible key holder and opening/closing of registers and daily deposits.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly wage range $17.86 – $24.16
