On Saturday, October 19, 2024, Landscape companies from across Rochester gathered to complete Phase 2 of the Law Enforcement Memorial at Soldiers Field Park.
At this Day of Service, volunteers worked to enhance this significant public area dedicated to honoring those who serve and protect our community. A similar effort took place when we planted the retaining wall areas in April 2023.
The turnout of local landscape professionals highlights Rochester’s commitment to community beautification and the value they place on creating and maintaining green spaces for everyone to enjoy. With expertise and dedication, these landscapers contributed both time and skill, ensuring that the space is beautiful for visitors to enjoy and remember those who have given their all. We also want to give a big thank you to Pinnacle Catering for providing a wonderful breakfast to the crews before beginning work in the morning.
- 465 total perennials, shrubs, and trees planted
- 2000 square feet of sod
- 50+ volunteers (30 professional landscapers)
- 200+ man hours worked
Sargent’s is proud to be part of a community that values service, teamwork, and honoring those who protect us. This day of collaboration and dedication to Rochester’s Law Enforcement Memorial has been one of our favorite events of the year.
About the Memorial:
Every day, law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to protect our communities. For these brave individuals, the commitment to public safety often comes with unimaginable risks, and tragically, some officers pay the ultimate price in service to others. To honor these fallen heroes, the Southeast Minnesota Law Enforcement Memorial was built at Soldiers Field in Rochester—a site where the community can come together to reflect, remember, and pay tribute to the lives and sacrifices of these officers.
This memorial provides a peaceful, dedicated space for remembrance. Surrounded by trees and located alongside the Veterans Memorial, this addition will create a serene place to honor both fallen officers and veterans, who have dedicated their lives to protecting and serving others.
