With a background rooted in natural resources and a genuine interest in every customer he meets, Harrison approaches tree care with both expertise and heart.

What sparked your interest in working with trees and natural resources?
“I was exposed to the outdoors from a young age, and exploring activities that have formed into hobbies drives me to bring that experience to others. Seeing and breathing the outdoors when I was young lit a fire under me, before I even knew what an arborist was. I’ve built on those natural interests, and it’s led me to a career with trees and natural resources as a main focus. Arboriculture is a great way to combine my interests with my work.”
What’s one small thing that brings you joy during the workday?
“I love having the opportunity to meet the people of Rochester and surrounding towns on their property and discuss their visions for their space. One of my favorite days on the job so far was meeting an 85-year-old customer who had more spunk than a sparkler. She walked me through her impressive landscape that she works on with intention. In her words, she gets it all done with “a pain and a cane.””
What do you hope customers feel when they interact with you or your work?
“I have a genuine interest in who my clients are and what they want to accomplish on their property. I hope they can feel that care through our interactions and the entire process of Sargent’s work.”
What’s something you've learned since starting at Sargent’s that surprised you?
“The in-depth care we can provide for young and mature trees. The disease prevention and treatment have been the most intriguing to me. It’s really neat to take a tree from stressed out to thriving!”

How does your work at Sargent’s align with your values or interests outside of work?
“Helping property owners navigate their decision-making process around how to shape their outdoor spaces with a special focus on trees is something I take a lot of pride in. I have a passion for land management and restoring natural landscapes. When I help accomplish that mission on a larger scale, my passion is fulfilled.”
When you’re not working, what are you most likely doing?
“You’ll probably find me fishing, water skiing, or sharpening a chainsaw.”
