How did you get involved in the landscape industry?
“I’ve always enjoyed landscaping. My grandpa shared this interest with me, and I think that’s where my passion for it really sparked. I’ve worked for a few other landscape businesses and a parks department, but ultimately landed at Sargent’s!”
What do you enjoy most about your job?
“Sargent’s has an awesome company culture, and I enjoy working with this great community of landscapers. I also enjoy doing dirt work and driving equipment every day.”
What are some highlights and challenges installing landscapes?
“The finer details can sometimes be a challenge. Making sure the finishing touches, like edging, are done right the first time makes all the difference. Some highlights include leveling ground, dirt work, and I also enjoyed installing a dry creek bed on a recent project.”
As a professional, do you have any tips to share about landscaping?
“My biggest tip is don’t rush through a project, but take it one step at a time. If you cut corners or make mistakes at the beginning of a landscape project, you’ll find out later and have to backtrack. Sometimes going slow actually saves time in the end.”
Why Sargent's?
“Sargent’s has a great community. The people here are supportive and I enjoy working with my crew. I also feel accomplished when we complete projects together.”
What is something unique about you?
“I have a lot of hobbies! I enjoy hunting, fishing, boating, driving ATV, hiking, traveling, cheering on Vikings football, meeting new people, and making friends.”
