How did you get involved in the plant industry?
“My first job offer was in a greenhouse nursery when I was 18 years old. I learned a lot and gained plant care skills that I have been able to use throughout my career.
The number of varieties of plants and learning that each had its own characteristics awakened in me the desire to know more, and that’s how I came to know what kind of plant I have in front of me just by looking at it.”
What brought you to Sargent’s and what’s made you stay?
“What brought me to Sargent’s was the vision of a different job opportunity, since I had been working for the same company for many years. I stayed here because I found a pleasant work environment, and the opportunity to grow.”
Share about your day-to-day at Sargent’s:
“Every morning I check the plants and trees and make sure that everything is in order. I help the landscape crew to find the plants they require for the pending work, I check emails to prepare the next day’s orders, and I and my team fill the store so that whenever customers arrive there is all the variety in sight and other things.”
What is the most rewarding part of what you do?
“Taking care of the plants and being aware of their needs so that when they reach the customer’s hands, a quality product can be delivered.”
What is something unique about you that few people know?
“I have been working with plants for about 18 years.”
Outside of your work at Sargent's, what fills your time and brings you joy?
“I enjoy spending time with my family!”
