Title: Landscape Logistics
Year Started at Sargent’s: 2018
Describe your role at Sargent's:
“As the Logistics team member, I handle all pre-counts and pre-loading to make sure our trees, woody plants, and perennials are ready for crews before each job. I also assist crew leaders and supervisors by hauling equipment, delivering materials to job sites, and helping keep projects running smoothly and on schedule.“
How did you get involved in the landscape industry?
“I got involved with the landscape side of Sargent’s because I wanted to learn more and gain experience in another area of the business. I started in Production with Cathy when I was 16, and once I turned 18, I was able to transfer departments. Last year, I applied for the new Logistics position and have really enjoyed the opportunity to grow within the company.“
What do you enjoy most about your job, and what are the challenges and highlights of your position?
“I enjoy being able to help crews with whatever they need and helping keep jobs on track. One of the biggest challenges is balancing multiple requests at once, especially when I get several phone calls for equipment or materials while still managing everything else I have going on throughout the day.“
As a professional, do you have any tips to share about landscaping?
“Whether you work at Sargent’s or do landscaping on your own, one of the biggest things to focus on is how you leave the job site once the work is complete. Maintenance and watering are especially important for new landscapes.”
Why Sargent’s?
“Sargent’s has a great culture, a strong foundation, and a group of employees who recognize the true value of customer satisfaction.“
Outside of your work at Sargent's, what do you enjoy spending your time on?
“Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering as a firefighter with the Oronoco Fire Department.“

What is something unique about you that few people know?
“I enjoy learning new skills and taking on different responsibilities, which is one of the reasons I’ve enjoyed growing into the Logistics role at Sargent’s.“
